Liberal Media Gone Too Far Free Essays
Liberal Media Gone Too Far This article GOP Convention Exposes Bigotry and Hatred on Left, on financial specialists. com posted on August 29, 2012, shows the oblivious explanations of the media to mix the American individuals. Composed by a Republican perspective, they are tired of the considerable number of media slamming they get from dissidents. We will compose a custom paper test on Liberal Media Gone Too Far or on the other hand any comparable point just for you Request Now The Democrats use dread to get their kindred Democrats to tail them. There are progressively ruinous promotions on Facebook and news destinations against Republicans than I have ever observed. The Democrats need everybody to concentrate on the pessimistic advertisements and explanations and alarm individuals, so they wonââ¬â¢t consider what terrible shape this nation is in today. The GOP needs us to realize that they have the experience to run this nation. The Democrats consistently pull the race and strict card at whatever point they donââ¬â¢t need the verifiable realities to be known. The race card assumes a noteworthy job in the 2012 Democrat crusade. The race card was utilized unreasonably during the 2008 presidential political decision. Bill Clinton played the race card in an assault on voter ID laws in his September sixth discourse at the Democratic show. He needs Democrats to accept the GOP doesnââ¬â¢t need any minorities, youthful, poor, and debilitate voters to cast a ballot. That couldnââ¬â¢t be farther from reality. There have been such a significant number of democrats indicted over votersââ¬â¢ extortion from the 2011 decisions, it just wasnââ¬â¢t authentic. Oak seed gave every one of us that it was so natural to control the framework. Voters ID are essential to keep up the honesty of our voterââ¬â¢s enlistment laws. At the point when 74% of Americans favor having individuals an ID when they vote, including 65% of African Americans and 64% of Hispanics. Most voters think indicating ID, a need in our day by day lives, is presence of mind. For whatever length of time that the democrats keep on working up racial feelings of trepidation and strains, this issue of utilizing the race card will proceeded. I trust the Americans individuals can perceive how careless and untrustworthy this training is to our voterââ¬â¢s trust in our political decision process. Mia Love was unreasonably decided by the dissidents in this article. For the dissidents to mark Mia Love as a ââ¬Å"house niggerâ⬠, ââ¬Å"dirty useless whoreâ⬠and an Aunt Tom, is merciless and uneducated. She is a profoundly taught lady from Haitian outsiders, who is a Mormon running for Congress in Utahââ¬â¢s fourth locale. On the off chance that she wins, she would be the primary individual of color that Republicans have ever chosen for Congress. Mia Love represents physical control, constrained government and moral obligation. Dissidents likes to slam the individual and not the governmental issues. Lawmakers utilize the strict card constantly. Dissidents judge individuals by their appearance and what their experience is, they will offer a terrible remark about it as opposed to staying with the issues. Glove Romney has confidence in Mormonism and the nonconformists think he shouldnââ¬â¢t be running for president. Chris Matthews called Mormons ââ¬Å"cultistâ⬠, and New York Times feature writer Charles Blow tweeted that Mitt Romney ought to ââ¬Å"stick that in our enchantment underwearâ⬠a comment alluding to a Mormon strict practice. Again why donââ¬â¢t nonconformists stress over the issues rather than someoneââ¬â¢s foundation? In the mid 1960s, individuals believed that John F. Kennedy shouldnââ¬â¢t be running for president since he was a catholic and it worked out that he was chosen leader of the United States of America. Your confidence is significant regardless of what party the applicant is with; their confidence is an individual decision. This article opened by eyes to the significance of doing my own examination on the competitors and issues as opposed to thinking everything that I read. I accept that dissidents believe that all republicans are white men in the corporate world. That is a cliché see purpose of a liberal. Individuals need to quit concentrating on castigating one another and begin thinking what it will take to make this nation a more grounded and more secure nation. Social Experience
Social Experience Social experience is a deep rooted social experience by which individuals build up their human potential and learn culture. The association of people has been concentrated through the ages by scholars of different types Darwin, Watson, Freud, Meade and Paigets. They all thought of an alternate perspective on how we grow socially. How significant are the jobs of family, school, peer gatherings and the media on our character advancement or is everything predetermined and instinctual. There are two unique hypotheses of what occurs in the beginning.Charles Darwin and Sigmund Freud accepted that human practices were organically based, that we have sense for human intensity, sexual and passionate holding, and forceful conduct. The other way of thinking as examined and demonstrated by John B. Watson, Jean Paigets, and George Herbert Meade was that behaviorism or impulses are found out. Home is the place the heart is and the start of the most significant piece of our range of abilities in cooperating with others and trim our characters? Family is the place we search for sustaining in the youth stages.Ideally family would be where the kid would be given a sheltered and caring condition, showing them abilities, qualities and convictions. In circumstances that do not have this there are different degrees of brokenness that show up. This was demonstrated by Harry and Margaret Harlow in the investigation of social disengagement of small kids. All out segregation of the youngster for a half year or less will make them become uninvolved, on edge, and dreadful when acquainted with gatherings of individuals, anything longer than that and the kid will never completely recover the capacity to work in society.Young kids gain from their condition and are in the sensorimotor stage as Jena Paigets declares in the hypothesis of subjective turn of events. They experience the world just through their faculties in the ages of 0-2 years. Preoperational stages trails that from 2-6 years utilizing image, language and the beginnings of creative mind and mental idea. The movement of learning in the family shows us our race and class in the public eye. Individuals naturally introduced to a lower class family are influenced monetarily as well as desires can be lower.Families in battling conditions push adjustment to enable the family to get by yet these worries of social imbalance can make defiance increasingly pervasive. Groups of higher standings or riches can concentrate on trustworthiness, inventiveness and looking to what's to come. Schools become the second specialist of socialization. It broadens the social universe of the kid. Sexual orientation jobs begin to rise. Young men will in general take part in increasingly physical exercises outside and practices inside the homeroom can turn out to be progressively forceful. Young ladies then again commonly do errands like assistance the educator. They are calmer and better behaved. This brings into play the solid operational phase of intellectual hypothesis when kids become mindful of their environmental factors. They center around the how and why of things. Schools likewise show training educational program some of which is obvious yet there is additionally a shrouded educational plan, for example, spelling honey bees showing youngsters there are champs and failures, sports showing aptitudes of collaboration and rivalry. School is the primary introduction to how the bureaucratic world functions with the unoriginal guidelines and exacting calendars. This gives them the range of abilities to adapt to the huge associations that may utilize them. The third operator is the friend gathering; a social gathering whose individuals have interests, social position and age in like manner. George Herbert Meade has a hypothesis of the social self. The Self or character is made out of mindfulness and mental self portrait; it grows just with social experience. It requires envisioning the circumst ance from the others perspective. The companion gathering can encourage the information on shaping connections outside of the family. It allows people to examine things of intrigue that probably won't be fascinating to a parent or a partner. It produces social binds that lead to faithfulness and pride in their friend bunches which can prompt putting different gatherings down. We make progress toward expectant socialization which is the discovering that happens to enable an individual to accomplish an ideal position, similar to Eagle Scout in Boys Scouts. The intensity of friend gatherings can be sure or negative to an immature. Difficulties of picking up their personalities without the family can leave the friend bunch as their solitary hotspot for data. Adolescents are growing up quicker consistently due to separate and the two guardians working. They become independent sooner due to legitimate need as opposed to decision. The broad communications itââ¬â¢s wherever all day, every day and it is showing our youngsters. Is that awful? Socialization through the media is with us for good. There is one set for each individual today. We invest a large portion of our free energy watching it. Pundits on the two sides of the political field have misgivings about it. The nonconformists feel TV has an impact in advancing racial and ethnic generalizations. The traditionalists think TV is commanded by the liberal elites and their message. The genuine worry for socialization is the measure of savagery on the airways. Can it be solid for a little youngster to watch individuals executed or even better play a computer game and be the one doing the slaughtering? Media ought to never turn into the sitter, parent and companion. The psyche will turn into a dull spot in the event that we gaze to long at somebody elseââ¬â¢s creative mind. It is as of now negatively affecting the soundness of our youngsters with corpulence rates getting higher consistently. I can recollect playing outside on the local boulevards till sunset. Riding bicycles and strolling to the neighborhood market. TV is a decent type of amusement I dread dependent on the material in the book.It is turning into a fixation. The most significant piece of socialization will consistently be the family. This is the place you ought to have the option to go to have a sense of security. This is the place you begin and can keep on having an establishment to life. In the perusing of the numerous scholars there is improvement en route yet none of it as significant as the things you learn in the first place. Family is your clan, your endurance gathering. It doesnââ¬â¢t fundamentally must be a blood relative however the socialization needs to start some place with somebody for us to turn into a dependable citizen.

President Obama What You Need to Know Before You Start Your First Job
President Obama What You Need to Know Before You Start Your First Job On paper, President Barack Obamaââ¬â¢s story and mine donââ¬â¢t share that much for all intents and purpose. (Our every day lives are really extraordinary, most definitely I canââ¬â¢t recall the last time I set up an evening gathering for 20 of my nearest world pioneer companions.) You may not think you and President Obama donââ¬â¢t share much for all intents and purpose, either. Yet, both you and I would be erroneous we as a whole share something significant for all intents and purpose. Everybody, including future presidents, needed to begin some place. In President Obamaââ¬â¢s case (and mine!), that start was in the dessert business. Nowadays, the President likely has a group of individuals prepared to bring him frozen yogurt at whatever point he needs it. In any case, quite a long time ago, he was an adolescent searching for an a dependable balance in the working scene. Like we all at the absolute starting point, he was excited for abilities and experience that woul d prompt the following chance, at that point one more and again. And keeping in mind that everyoneââ¬â¢s way is unique, and may not prompt the White House, there are some all inclusive things that we as a whole take from our initial employment experiences.Work sort of sucks.Sometimes work is incredible! Some of the time we love our associates, and have marvelous days. Be that as it may, even in the most joyful of times in the best-fitting of occupations, there will be overpowering days, or times when we despise it. That authenticity is an unavoidable exercise from oneââ¬â¢s first employment. Idealism is awesome, yet ought to consistently be tempered fairly with the logical way of thinking that occasionally things will be hard, and we have to figure out how to control through that. You get the hang of something at each particular employment youââ¬â¢ll ever have. For model, after my own secondary school summers serving Blizzards, I discovered that I was not, at this point keen on serving food to individuals. In any case, I additionally learned abilities like how to utilize a sales register, how to manage associates of changing fitness, and how an independent company establishment operates.I didnââ¬â¢t seek after a drawn out profession identified with dessert deals, yet I built up an expertise base that I can generally draw on, every one of these years after the fact. Regardless of whether you worked somewhere for three days before stopping with sickening apprehension, odds are you adapted either something about the work environment when all is said in done, or something about yourself.Time the board is the key. There are not many occupations out there that are absolutely unstructured. Regardless of whether you got up at 6 a.m. to work a move, or expected to make sense of how to mark off your daily agenda so as to get out on time at 5 p.m., those early employments imparted in us a feeling of what time implies in the expert world. The working environment i s a community. That may sound a little ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢d like to purchase the world a Coke,â⬠however itââ¬â¢s genuine working is something we all share for all intents and purpose. Any working environment is its own little network, with conventions, duties, and an entire pack of various characters pushed together for a long time for each week. What's more, that little network fits into the more extensive network some way or another, regardless of whether itââ¬â¢s offering types of assistance or filling needs. At some point, whether in the close past or the far off past, us all were green children with scarcely any aptitudes. Thinking back and seeing how those early employments helped us, regardless of what way we picked after those most punctual chances, makes every one of us the more grounded in the future.Source:à LinkedIn

Greed is Good
It all began with a little tweak in the system, with a little deregulation. After the Great Depression, two new laws were enacted in the United States ââ¬â the Glass-Steagall Act and the Securities and Exchanges Act- aimed at curbing the financial mismanagement that led to it. They restricted irresponsible dealings and required regular and extensive disclosure of financial information. The banking sector was tightly regulated. All was going good and no one suspected the financial sector for a long time; until the Oil Shock struck the world. The Arabs were making money rapidly-faster than they could consume it. Their reserves of petro-dollars was doubling by the day and quadrupling overnight. They invested all this in western banks. The banks now had more deposits than investments. Ideally, this is a good place to be in. But greed crept in through the backdoor. The banks did not want to sit on all the green that they had going on for them. They wanted to ââ¬Ëinvestââ¬â ¢ it and ââ¬Ëdiversifyââ¬â¢ their funds. They argued that they could allocate all the resources (money) they had more effectively. Of course there would be the occasional profits, they said, but that is all a by-product of a much greater enterprise. In effect their arguments veiled selfishness as altruism. Regan, it seems, was won over by this argument or probably his funders were. There were substantial deregulations during his administration. Of particular relevance is the Garn-St.Germain Act which deregulated the Savings and Loans (SL) companies. This led to a slew of irregularities in this sector. What came into play was a principle that has run amuck whenever a financial crisis has struck ââ¬â the principle of Moral Hazard, which means that someone else must pay for your sins. It was and still is a very attractive principle for the capitalists. It means that they can take unlimited risks without any liability. When the SL companies were deregulated they were allowe d to play with the life savings of thousands of people. They could throw it anywhere they liked and all they lost was nothing. It was the taxpayers who lost money. There was a $124 billion bailout, courtesy of the honest taxpayer. They were scammed by the Regan Administration, hands-in ââ¬âglove with the SL companies. This, though, did not mean that there was no accountability. There was the conviction of Charles Keating followed by Michael Milken, Ivan Boesky et al for fraud and insider trading. But neither did it make up for the lax enforcement of law and the deregulations nor did the people get their hard-earned money back. Overall, it was a post-dated cheque. With Bill Clinton in office, Wall Street and Washington got cosier. Under his administration, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act was passed. It repealed the Glass-Steagall Act and paved the way for the formation of Citigroup, hence its nickname ââ¬â The Citigroup Relief Act. As a matter of fact, when the Fed was given pow ers to regulate the financial industry, Alan Greenspan refused to do so, saying that it was unnecessary. After that, the Clinton Administration, especially Larry Summers, Alan Greenspan and Phil Gramm, helped enact the Commodity Futures Modernization Act which banned all regulation of derivate trading and exempted them from anti-gambling laws. A word about the derivate is in order here. In general, they are agreements between two parties that is dependent upon a future outcome. What it is dependent upon and how exactly the future outcome determined is is every mathematicianââ¬â¢s nightmare. These financial instruments do not have a value of their own accord. They derive them from various other factors, which, again, are incredibly complex. Along with CDS and CDOââ¬â¢s they form the bedrock of the 2008 crisis. Hardly anybody could understand what it was, using them was a different matter altogether. It was and still is a cruel joke. When Gorge Bush reigned over the United States, the warning signs were all over. The sickening economy was starting to reveal its ugly symptoms. Fannie Mae Freddie Mac ââ¬Ës massive accounting fraud was followed by Worldcom inflating its assets by $11 billion. Arthur Andersen was convicted for shredding Enron documents, which may have concealed another scam. Amidst all this, a new variety of extremely complex financial instruments arose ââ¬â securitization of mortgages in the form of credit default swaps (CDS) and co-lateral debt obligations (CDO). I reiterate what I said earlier ââ¬â no one , except the statisticians who designed them, knew what they were. That group of ignoramuses included traders and economists. Instead of checking this alarming development, the SEC lifted the leverage limits on the investment banks. Leverage is the ratio of a companyââ¬â¢s debt to its total finance. After the SEC lifted the limits, this ratio ran as high as 33 to 1. It meant that a one percent decrease in their asset v alue could virtually wipe out the entire capital. This was indeed a very dangerous situation. In real terms, it meant exploitation of the taxpayersââ¬â¢ money on unimaginable scales. Gradually, a massive housing and credit mortgage bubble grew, fed by the investment banking industry. It was threatening to overwhelm the US economy. Raghuram Rajan, the former chief economist at the IMF, warned of this danger and Larry Summers promptly dismissed him as a Luddite. After the warning and dismissal, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank et al, used CDS to bet against their own securities. What this meant was that they were selling ââ¬Ëstuffââ¬â¢ to their investors saying that their investment was safe, while at the same time betting that it would fail. They were betting against themselves. It was a crazy system (I do not know if I can use the word system). In 2007, house ownerships were at an all time high while savings at an all time low. The housing bubble burst. The su b-prime mortgage crisis hit the world. March 2008, Bear Stearns collapsed followed by the Lehman Brothers in September. AIG was circling the drain. The US economy was on the verge of a virtual meltdown. A fluttered Bush administration, immediately injected money into the economy, the banks, I mean. A $700 billion emergency bailout was approved for the financial industry. Housing prices dropped by over 30% over the next three years, unemployment rose from 5% to 10% in a year; billions of dollars were lost to the people of the United States. The crisis had hit home. Washington and Wall Street remain unrepentant. Obama, the ââ¬Ëchange manââ¬â¢, appointed many Wall Street executives to senior regulatory and economic policy positions. The two have never been snugger. Democrats or Republicans, it does not matter, it never has. It looks like Greed has won in the long run.

Illegal Immigration Essay - 1018 Words
Preston Lorenz Period C 5/17/13 Immigration Essay Almost all of us can say we are children of immigrants. Either our great grandparents or grandparents came to America for a better life. We know that the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are the symbols of that great dream that so many sought so many years ago. During a visit to Ellis Island last summer I learned that during the early 1900ââ¬â¢s we encouraged immigration because it was a time when our countryââ¬â¢s territory had grown and we needed more people to help with the continued development of our country. Today, however, we find that immigration is not seen as a positive for our country, but rather it is unquestionably considered a problem today in America. Immigration law is inâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Many illegal immigrants are coming over and cause crimes and endangering the American citizens. But not all illegal immigrants are bad some illegal immigrants are here because they are trying to make a better live for themselves. Illegal immigration also has a great cost as well. Illegal immigrant households imposed, in total, costs exceeding $26 billion for the federal government, while these immigrants paid only 16 billion dollars in federal taxes, therefore creating a fiscal deficit of $10.4 billion per year at the federal level. The largest contributors to this deficit were Medicaid with $2.5 billion, medical treatment for the uninsured with $2.2 billion, food-assistance programs with $1.9 billion, the federal prison and court systems with $1.6 billion, and federal aid to schools with $1.4 billion. While I believe there are too many illegal immigrants to have them all deported, I do think that those illegal immigrants who are taking up criminal activities are the ones that should be deported; rather than put in our already overcrowded jails. I think the other illegal immigrants who actually want to become a citizen and make a life for themselves should be able to come forward, and if they pass criminal background checks and pay fees and penalties, they can then be eligible for a provisional legal status. Agricultural workers and those who entered as children should also be eligible for the same program. The Battle Of The Texas Revolution - 1910 Words
Our next discussion in American History takes us on the special journey back to the Texas Revolution. This battle saw a lot of heroes and also coined one of the most famous sayings in the state of Texas, ââ¬Å"Remember the Alamoâ⬠! However, before we can get to all the guts and glory we must first look at the causes that lead to this epic revolution to understand both sides of the coin. I will look at the background, battles, people and results of the Texas Revolution, as well as give my opinion of the Mexican governmentââ¬â¢s innocence or blame in this battle. This story starts back on 10/01/1800, it is this day that the Treaty of San IIdefonso was signed. When the treaty was signed it returned Louisiana from Spain back to France. Spainâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This is a point where Mexico only had 3,500 native Mexicans settled in Texas; so in 1821, the Spanish government granted permission to Austin to settle 300 families in Texas. Austinââ¬â¢s luck was about to turn around for him with this deal. On the other hand, he would not see his vision come to fruition, as he would perish on a return trip from Mexico City after being robbed. Before his untimely passing, his son Stephen F. Austin promised his father he would carry out the task and see it until the end. The year is now 1824 and a young Stephen F. Austin has attracted 272 colonists to Texas at this point; in addition to that he was also able to persuade the newly independent Mexican government to give empresarios (or land agents) 67,000 acres of land for every 200 families brought to Texas. Thatââ¬â¢s approximately 335 acres a family which is unheard of. Mexico did agree to the term with two conditions pertaining to land ownership; first the settlers had to become Mexican citizens and secondly they had to covert to Roman Catholicism. Converting to Roman Catholicism proved to be a ââ¬Å"Puritan Problemâ⬠, however by 1830 there were 16,000 Americans in Texas. How Women Abolitionists Fought Slavery
Abolitionist was the word used in the 19th century for those who worked to abolish the institution of slavery. Women were quite active in the abolitionist movement, at a time when women were, in general, not active in the public sphere. The presence of women in the abolitionist movement was considered by many to be scandalousââ¬ânot just because of the issue itself, which was not universally supported even in states that had abolished slavery within their borders, but because these activists were women, and the dominant expectation of the proper place for women was in the domestic, not the public, sphere. Nevertheless, the abolitionist movement attracted quite a few women to its active ranks. White women came out of their domestic sphere to work against the enslavement of others. Black women spoke from their experience, bringing their story to audiences to elicit empathy and action. Black Women Abolitionists The two most famous black women abolitionists were Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman. Both were well-known in their time and are still the most famous of the black women who worked against slavery. Frances Ellen Watkins Harper and Maria W. Stewart are not as well known, but both were respected writers and activists. Harriet Jacobs wrote a memoir that was important as a story of what women went through during slavery, and brought the conditions of slavery to the attention of a wider audience. Sarah Mapps Douglass, part of the free African American community in Philadelphia, was an educator who also worked in the antislavery movement. Charlotte Forten Grimkà © was also part of the Philadelphia free African American community involved with the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society.à Other African American women who were active abolitionists included Ellen Craft, the Edmonson sisters (Mary and Emily), Sarah Harris Fayerweather, Charlotte Forten, Margaretta Forten, Susan Forten, Elizabeth Freeman (Mumbet), Eliza Ann Garner, Harriet Ann Jacobs,à Mary Meachum, Anna Murray-Douglass (first wife of Frederick Douglass), Susan Paul,à Harriet Forten Purvis, Mary Ellen Pleasant, Caroline Remond Putnam, Sarah Parker Remond, Josephine St. Pierre Ruffin, and Mary Ann Shadd. White Women Abolitionists More white women than black women were prominent in the abolitionist movement, for a variety of reasons: Although the movement of all women was restricted by social convention, white women had more freedom than black women to move about.White women were more likely to have the income to support themselves while doing abolitionist work.Black women were, after the Fugitive Slave Act and the Dred Scott Supreme Court decision, at risk of capture and transport to the South if someone alleged (rightly or wrongly) that they were escaped slaves.White women were generally better-educated than black women were (even though not at all on a par with the education of white men), including in formal oratory skills popular as a topic in education at the time. White women abolitionists were often connected with liberal religions like the Quakers, Unitarians, and Universalists, which taught the spiritual equality of all souls. Many white women who were abolitionists were married to (white) male abolitionists or came from abolitionist families, though some, like the Grimke sisters, rejected the ideas of their families. Disparity Between Imprisonment Rate And Crime Rate
The Disparity Between Imprisonment Rate and Crime Rate in Australia By Christopher Batho During the period of 2002 to 2014, the imprisonment rate in Australia increased while at the same time the crime rate decreased. This essay will aim to give reasons and theories as to why this apparent disparity between the rising imprisonment rate and decreasing crime rate exists. To do this, the purposes for punishment will be examined, how and why this purpose of punishment has changed over time, the sociological and criminological theories that best explain this disparity, and finally the implications on society through these criminal justice trends. However firstly we will examine the statistics that prove this disparity. Between 2002 andâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Property crime includes unlawful entry with intent (UEWI), motor vehicle theft (MVT) and other theft. The total number of offences for property crime has decreased from 1,188,582 in 2002 to 773348 in 2012. From both sets of data, it can be calculated that in the period of 2002 to 2012, the impr isonment rate increased 13.5 percent yet the violent crime and property crime rates decreased 26 percent and 35 percent respectively. The question is, how is this possible? This will be answered later but now the purposes for punishment will now be studied. When a person is guilty of a crime, it is societyââ¬â¢s job to punish this person for their act. Once the person has been found guilty, they are then sentenced by a judge with a certain purpose or purposes for the punishment. The main four purposes used are retribution, deterrence, rehabilitation and incapacitation. Retribution is defined by Mani as the offender ââ¬Ëmust be punished simply because the wrongful act merits condemnation and punishment.ââ¬â¢ (Reference). Deterrence is ââ¬Ëbased on the idea that criminal behaviour can be deterred if punishment is swift, certain, and severe enough to counter the benefits or pleasure gained from committing crime.ââ¬â¢ (Reference). Rehabilitation of an offender may be achi eved through education or therapy. However, it must be understood that in order for rehabilitation to be

GETWELL CLINICS BREAKEVEN ANALYSIS Analyzing Break-Even Points and Dealing with Practice Constraints INSTRUCTIONS: FILL IN THE YELLOW HIGHLIGHTED AREAS â⬠¢ Explain the relevance of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) analysis as a tool that drives costs and affects management decisions in health care. Diagnosis Related Groups is a system that categorized patients into specific groups based on their medical diagnosis and other characteristics, such as age and types of surgery, if any. DRGs are currently used by Medicare and some other hospital payers as a basis for payment (Finkler, 2007). What this does is help an organization determine the resources that will be needed to treat each patient and what the costs will be. Using DRGs as a tool allows the health care organization to develop segments for each patient and give a breakdown of each group of patients. Doing this it allows managers to gain an understanding of what is needed after reviewing each segment, on whether or not a service is still needed or if it should be dropped. Explain why. After examining the calculations above, the DRG that must be promoted in an advertising program if an office has excess capacity would be DRG J. This is the case because it has the highest contribution margin of $1500, and the organization is not osing money in any way because it has excess capacity. The DRG with the highest contribution must be promoted to maximize Getwells profits. o Which DRG must be promoted if the office is almost at maximum capacity in terms of available hours? Explain why. If the organization is lost to maximum capacity when the hours are concerned they would need to promote DRG P. DRG P must be p romoted because in terms of contribution margin per hour, DRG P has the highest CM per hour and must be promoted to achieve maximum profitability. What rationale may be used to support the use of DRGs as an approach to allocating costs? Fixed costs remain the same, and this means the more the contribution yields, the organization will realize they are gaining more profits. Therefore, this is the rationale that could be used to support the use of DRGs as an approach to allocating costs. Finkler, S. A. , Ward, D. M. , Baker, J. J. (2007). Medium theory also known as the channel theory or media formalism was propounded by Herbert Marshall McLuhan, in the twentieth century. The Canadian philosopher and professor had claimed that the message is contained in the medium thereby challenging the conventional definitions. McLuhan stressed on the fact that the channels differ in terms of how they alter and awaken the senses and thoughts of the individuals. He popularized the notion that the channels provide a strong force that have to be comprehended to gain knowledge on the fact as to how the media might influence culture and society. The theory focusses on the characteristics of the medium. In case of the medium theory, a medium refers not only to the newspapers, digital cameras or the internet, it involves the symbolic environment of a communicative act. The thesis of the Canadian philosopher portrays that people may adapt to their environment through a particular ratio or balance of the senses. He further suggests that the sense ratio is brought about by the medium of a certain age and thus affects perception. In case of the online retailer Amazon, the medium theory seems to be aptly applicable. Theory of libertarianism or the free pass theory is another theory based on the media spaces. According to this theory, the absence of restraint is advocated. The theory mainly focuses on the rights of an individual (Bailey 2012.). This theory has its roots in the seventeenth century. During that time, the printing press in England had made production of several copies of the same document or books possible at cheaper rates (Rosenberry and Vicker 2017). The followers of this theory regard the state to be a major source of interference to the property and rights of an individual. This theory granted the will of the people more priority over the power of the state. The theory was advocated by the early 16th century philosopher Lao Tzu, the English philosopher John Locke in the 17th century, the17th century English poet and polemicist John Milton and the essayist John Stuart Mill. The theory of Soviet media or the communist theory is based on the ideologies of the philosophers Marx and Engel. This theory propagates the notion that ruling ideas are nothing but the ideas of the ruling classes. The theory proposed that media spaces should be targeted only at educating the huge masses of the employees (Hanson 2016). The theory should not be targeted at disbursing of information. The theory invited feedback from the target audience so that it could deliver to the needs of the public. According to Lenin, private ownership is incompatible with the freedom of press. He further opined the technological medium of information should be controlled to effectively enable the press freedom. The development communication theory suggests that no development can be brought about without the presence of communication (Rice and Atkin 2012). According to the concerned theory, the media was assigned the role of performing the programs that could bring about positive changes in the development of the state. There were different surveys that have been conducted by the individuals wherein it was found that the internet is a part of life of more than 80% of individuals and the lifestyle of the mobile helps in influencing the life of the different customers in many ways in the media spaces. The new media space helps in creating new interpersonal relationships wherein the people of the entire society can shop online as well as there are different other advantages of the social media in the lives of the individuals.
